Netflix Served Up Over 1 Billion Hours Of Video In June
Netflix CEO, Reed Hastings, announced in a Facebook post that Netflix reached a milestone: “Netflix monthly viewing exceeded 1 billion hours for the first time ever in June.”
Last fall Netflix was on the verge of disaster. They spun off the DVD service, changed the pricing structure, and renamed it Qwikster. Well as we all know, Netflix customers revolted. Subscribers fled in droves and Netflix stock dropped like a rock. Analysts, pundits, and customers called for Reed Hastings to be fired. Tech writers had a field day with rumors of the company’s collapse. Fast forward to July 2012. Netflix is 23 million streaming customers strong, and they’ve watched over a billion hours of programming in a month.
- In other Netflix news, Breaking Bad season 4 will be available on Netflix streaming July 15th.
